UTEP impresses, others on the list

Alief (Texas) Hastings tight end Eddrick Gilmore returned from his recent official visit to the University of Texas-El Paso impressed, but is not committed.
"It was a good trip," he said. "I really liked it. The coaches were great and it was a fun atmosphere."

Gilmore is tentatively scheduling a visit to Syracuse in early December and is receiving interest from Utah and Arkansas.
"I'm really open right now but I really want to visit Syracuse," he said. "I think they are going to offer when I go up there, but I just want to get up there and check it out."
Gilmore (6-foot-5, 255 pounds) moved from defensive end to tight end to help Hastings' run-oriented offense.
"I like tight end, but schools that are talking about moving me inside on the offensive line concern me," he said. "I'll do it, but I'd rather play tight end or even defensive end."
