Utah, UCF pressing for breakout wide receiver

MIAMI – Terrell Perriman’s production so far this season can’t be denied. One of the most effective wide receivers in South Florida so far, it’s amazing his hot start hasn’t brought a flood of recruiting interest.

Maybe that’s coming. Maybe it isn’t. But it’s not as though he doesn’t have solid options as things stand.

“Utah and UCF are the only teams I’m really talking to right now,” Perriman said. “My options are still open, but those are the schools I’m talking to. “

It seems the programs’ persistence will payoff. Perriman says he thinks the Knights and Utes will get official visits this fall. If other schools joining the fray, fine. If not, he’s happy inspecting the options he’ currently favors.

“I want to see both places for sure. I’m going to get out there and just see what they’re all about.”

The 5-foot-11 Perriman attends Miami Central High School.

IN HIS WORDS:

-- “With Utah, I want to see the faculties, but I know they have a good coaching staff. I just have to visit.”

-- “I know UCF has a good program. There, it’s not just football. They focus on life after football, and I like that.”

-- “I want Oregon. I want Texas. I want Texas A&M. I want all those offers. I feel like I Deserve them. I play hard.”

RIVALS REACION: If Perriman, who is off to a blazing start this season, keeps up his current pace, his options will expand quickly. He lacks elite height but at 5-foot-11, he’s not exactly a shrimp. Utah, UCF or any number of other schools could get a steal here if a recruiting powerhouse waits too long to swoop in and put on the press.
