Utah State picks up Texas lineman

Plano, Texas sleeper offensive center Carlos Cuevas doesn't have to worry any more about which college he'll be attending next fall. The Lone Star prospect has made up his mind and is all set for one out-of-state school.
The 6-foot-2, 315-pounder made a commitment this past weekend to Utah State after an official visit.

"I went to Utah State this past weekend and it just felt like a good fit for me," Cuevas said. "I like where the program is heading and the majority of the guys playing there are freshmen and sophomores. With it going that way, I wanted to be a part of it."
Cuevas says that the other scholarship offers were from Division II schools. Regardless, he has the chance to come in and compete early at Utah State.
"They said that I had the talent to play as freshman," Cuevas said. "But, they also mentioned that they'd like to redshirt me. I'll just go down there and I know that I'll have a good shot at winning one of those spots if I work hard."
"All five spots are open, so it's up to me to compete."
