Utah QB stock is hot

One of the fastest rising quarterback prospects out west comes from a state that is generally underrated when it comes to football talent, but over the last two to three years the state of Utah has picked it up.
The reason that Utah is getting on the football map is players like quarterback Michael Affleck (6-3, 235, 4.7) from Provo (Utah) Timpview.

Affleck didn’t get a chance to throw as much his junior season as he will as senior. He played on a team that had a solid running back and great offensive line so Timpview ran the ball a lot.
Still Affleck was very impressive throwing the ball. He completed 105 passes out of 195 tries, hitting on 54% of his attempts for 2,090 yards and 14 touchdowns.
The reason that Affleck’s stock is flying high is because of his outstanding combine performances. Believe it or not, Affleck was among the top four bench pressers at the Nike camp held at Colorado. He lifted 185 pounds, 26 times. Very extraordinary for a quarterback.
Affleck has a great work ethic and is not afraid of the weight room. He benches 340 pounds, squats 450 and recorded a 27 ½-inch vertical jump.
A hard worker, Affleck is intent on improving his game. He has already attended camps at USC, Utah, ASU and Arizona.
At the USC camp Affleck shined and more than held his own with other campers Kyle Wright, Richard Kovalcheck, T.C. Ostrander and Leon Jackson, III all who were there at the USC camp.
Affleck’s goal of becoming a better player will continue as he is one of 11 other quarterbacks who selected to participate at the very prestigious Elite 11 quarterback. This camp will bring together 11 of the finest signal-callers in the nation and is quite an honor for any quarterback to attend
Not one to stand on his laurels, Affleck will head to Colorado for CU’s Elite camp that will be held on August 3rd.
The scouting report on Affleck is he possesses a gun for an arm and has super quick release. He is also known as a very accurate passer.
Affleck is looking for a college where he would have an opportunity to play by his sophomore year.
Affleck’s current top five are USC, Colorado (offer), Utah (pending offer), ASU and Arizona…
