Utah DT lands seventh offer

Defensive tackles are always in short supply that is why there is always a high premium on the best and one of the best in the west is Ricky Heimuli (6-4, 280, 4.9) from Salt Lake City (Utah) Brighton. He picked up another Pac 10 offer yesterday to up his total offers to seven. There is no doubt more will be on the way.
UCLA offered Heimuli yesterday and the Bruins joined BYU, Utah, Colorado, Oregon State, Stanford and Washington with scholies on the table.

"I received an email from UCLA so I called them," Heimuli said. "I talked to (offensive coordinator) Coach Norm Chow and told me my offer was on the way."
"I always wanted to hear from UCLA," Heimuli said. "So getting a UCLA offer is a pretty big deal to me."
"I have always liked watching UCLA play football growing up," Heimuli said. "It is just one of those things, I like watching UCLA. I hope to take a visit there."
"I like all of the schools that have offered me," Heimuli said. "I just want to get to know the coaches from all the schools and we will see how it goes from there."
What is Heimuli looking for in a college?
"One of the main things I'm looking for is getting a good education," Heimuli said. "Football wise I will look at how close the players are to one another and how close the coaches are to the players."
Heimuli earned first-team all-region and was an all-state honorable mention selection as junior after racking up 50 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and five sacks.
In the weight room his current bench is 270 and he squats an outstanding 520.
Heimuli is scheduled to attend the NIKE Camp in Los Angeles in April and there are no other camps in his plans at this time.
