Deatrick Nichols committed to USF in May over verbal offers from Clemson and UCLA.
This summer he took visits to Florida State and Georgia. Neither school offered, but he enjoyed the experience.
Nichols said he is 100-percent to the Bulls, but he is still talking to other schools. He has plans to check out Kentucky, Tennessee, and UCLA.
"I always wanted to leave Miami," stated Nichols. "I always liked UCLA. A lot of their coaches talk to me. They show me a lot of love."
It may be hard to flip Nichols from his Bulls pledge. His former high school head coach Telly Lockette is the new running backs coach in Tampa.
"It's a big reason (why I committed)," noted Nichols. "I have a coach that I can believe in and a coach that I can trust."
He is working hard on teammate Calvin Brewton to follow him to USF. Rivals100 running back and Hurricanes commit Joseph Yearby said he will likely take an official visit this season to USF.
Last season, he racked up 18 tackles, three interceptions returning one for a score, and a forced fumble.
