USF leads big for juco OL

Hutchinson (Kan.) Hutchinson C.C. three-star offensive tackle Jamar Bass is one of the top offensive line prospects available in the junior college ranks this season.
The 6-foot-4, 290-pounder has already taken one official visit and has another one lined up.

"I visited Troy back on Nov. 14," Bass said. "It was a good visit. I saw some stuff I liked and then I saw some stuff I didn't like, too. It could be a good place for me to play at for sure, though. They have a lot of stuff that helps you get prepared both academically and athletically."
However, it's an upcoming visit to USF that might help seal the deal for Bass.
"Right now, I'm leaning toward USF,' he said. "I went this spring and met with coach Jim Leavitt. When I got to meet him, I got a great connection. I think that's a really good thing to have a good vibe with somebody that could be your coach some day. I'm going to visit them on Dec. 12th."
Bass said a few other schools have still been pursuing him heavily. He had offers from UAB, USF, Southern Miss, Florida International, Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee and Troy.
He said Illinois also made a run at him here recently, but he said he didn't want to play where he would be near cold weather.
"I've had enough of the cold weather here in Kansas," Bass said.
Bass is a December grad that will have three years to play two seasons. He is originally from Apopka, Fla.
