USF commit Sands plans to visit Louisville

Three-star athlete Trevon Sands of Miami (Fla.) Southwest committed to USF in March and his commitment remains strong, but if there's any school that stands a chance of reopening Sands' recruiting process, it's Louisville.
Sands said he plans on taking official visits to both schools, but isn't sure when.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Sands committed to the Bulls because of his relationship with assistant Telly Lockette.
"We have a strong bond," Sands said. "They were one of my first offers and he told me once they offered me a bunch of other schools would come in and offer and I believed him. From Day 1, he's kept in contact when some coaches called one week and offered and didn't keep in contact. We have a bond that's unbreakable."
Sands would end up receiving more than a dozen offers, including from Louisville.
"I like their defense and I have two friends that I grew up with who go there," he said.
Though he admitted he likes the Cardinals, he said he wasn't sure he would ever reopen his recruiting process and mentioned what he likes about the Bulls.
"They're on the come-up and they're a building program," he said. "Like my school, when I first got there we were 2-8, then we went 9-1 and 9-1. They're getting better every year."
Sands also said he was told he could receive a lot of playing time as a freshman.
Sands had 1,200 all-purpose yards, 19 touchdowns, three of which were punt returns, and 66 tackles last season.
