MISSION VIEJO, Calif. - Geirean Hatchett is a 2020 offensive lineman but he’s wasted no time taking a bunch of important visits including this past weekend.

The Ferndale, Wash., standout took a trip to USC before the Under Armour Camp, landed his latest offer from the Trojans and had an excellent time.

“It was awesome,” Hatchett said. “The campus was amazing and obviously their facilities are up-to-par. Everything is so nice there and their coaching staff, I liked them a lot, it was awesome.

“They did offer me. We were hanging out in coach (Neil) Calloway’s office, their offensive line coach, and then Clay Helton came in, he just got back from a trip so he brought us into his office, sat us down and talked to us for a half-hour or so and halfway through the conversation he offered me a scholarship.”

USC joins Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, TCU, Texas A&M and Washington on Hatchett’s offer list.

“It’s big,” Hatchett said. “USC is one of the top schools you think of when you think football dynasties so USC is definitely a big school and I’m glad they gave me the opportunity to come play for them someday.”

As for an early top list of schools, the 2020 offensive lineman said Washington, USC and Oklahoma look best.

“I like Lincoln Riley, Bill Bedenbaugh, the offensive line coach, they’re all awesome,” Hatchett said of the Sooners.

The Ferndale, Wash., recruit plans to visit Cal and Stanford in the coming weeks and then will make another trip to Washington in the spring. He’s visited with the Huskies most up to this point.
