USC still strong with Sidney

Trevon Sidney is taking a Pac-12 trip in April but it's another school from that conference that still holds the edge in his recruitment.
The four-star from La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat will visit Washington on April 19 and he's especially excited because he's really building a good relationship with the Huskies' coaching staff.

"I'm just trying to get up there," Sidney said. "I was supposed to go up there for the original junior day but I couldn't make it up there because of baseball. They have a junior elite day so I'm trying to get up there and see what it's all about.
"It's been pretty hard with them. I talk to (Washington wide receivers coach Brent) Pease almost every other day so we're starting to build a relationship so it's pretty good."
Washington intrigues Sidney, rated as the No. 111 prospect in the 2016 class by Rivals.com, but USC still looks the best in his recruitment.
The Bishop Amat standout who could play cornerback or receiver in college is expected to also take trips to USC and UCLA in the coming weeks.
And the Trojans definitely stand out most in his recruitment at this point.
"I start spring break and they have a couple practices in there so I'll go over there," Sidney said.
"USC is looking pretty strong, just the relationship with the coaches. I have a good relationship with them and in recruiting they're just good."
Sidney is not going to rush a decision though. The four-star wants to take all five official visits and plans to commit at the Army Bowl.
In his junior season, Sidney finished with 38 catches for 540 yards and three touchdowns. He also recorded 47 tackles.
