THE LATEST: Michael Ezeike has proven to be one of the best wide receivers in the West and he landed a big offer this weekend from USC.

The Ontario (Calif.) Colony standout has worked out at USC numerous times this offseason and the Trojans’ coaching staff has shown more and more interest. It’s easy to see why.

Ezeike is a tremendous physical presence at 6-foot-5 and 210 pounds where he could be a devastating matchup on the outside against cornerbacks or he can continue to develop and be a flex tight end who could outrun and outmaneuver bigger linebackers.

The USC offer is definitely big for Ezeike but he still has a list of frontrunners, he’s planning to take a bunch of offseason visits and a decision is not expected until later in his recruitment.

IN HIS WORDS: “I have been talking to the USC staff for a while now and ever since I came to the camp they had last Sunday, they grew even more interested in me. (Over the weekend) there was a 7on7 tournament at SC and I showed up and dominated. I think that sealed the deal. Coach (Clay) Helton said that he wants me to be a Trojan and that I could do big things for SC and I would make a really good impact in their offense. SC is a very great school and I’m glad I got this offer. They are definitely in my options of schools I would to go to.”

RIVALS’ REACTION: Ezeike is still working out his visit schedule but many of those could be important as he works closer to a decision.

The Ontario Colony standout is definitely highly interested in Texas A&M and getting to College Station this summer could be crucial.

He said Utah, Oregon, UCLA and “a few more” continue to stand out in his recruitment as well. That’s no surprise since those programs have offered a while ago and Ezeike has been working to visit many of those schools this summer.

The USC offer is definitely big. Ezeike made it a point to attend numerous events there in the last few weeks and worked really hard for an offer. That must mean he has a whole lot of interest in the Trojans and he’ll probably look much closer at the program as his senior season approaches.
