USC lands four-star linebacker

From the beginning of his recruitment, USC stood out to Michael Hutchings and Sunday the four-star linebacker ended things with his commitment to the Trojans.
It is another major pledge for USC which now has three five-star commitments and eight four-stars in its recruiting class.

"It's a great feeling now that the process is over with," Hutchings said.
"I've been in it for a while and I was ready to get it over with. It's nice to have it off my back and I can focus on my last year of high school and getting things accomplished this year."
Hutchings, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound outside linebacker, said he knows a lot of the USC commits and the prospects keep getting closer.
"It's great," Hutchings said.
"As we meet each other we keep getting closer and we bond every time we get together. It's kind of weird how we get along so easily. It's really going to be something special in the end."
Many other programs have offered Hutchings - he had more than 20 offers - but USC was going to be difficult to beat from early on.
After taking numerous visits to USC by himself and some with his family, Hutchings said he knew for a while that the Trojans were the team to beat.
"It really was going to be tough," Hutchings said. "Just the combination of athletics and academics together really set them apart.
"Everything they have to offer outside of football as well as the football side of things, the coaching staff, I got a chance to meet with Mr. (Pat) Haden and the business school, it offered me a lot of things. I knew what I was coming into even before I was committed."
Rivals.com rates Hutchings as the eighth-best outside linebacker, No. 51 in the 2013 class and sixth in the California state rankings.
