USC lands 2015 prospect

Taeon Mason always considered USC one of his favorites.
So when the 2015 cornerback from Pasadena (Calif.) Muir was offered by the Trojans during an unofficial visit on Saturday, Mason did not waste any time committing.

What especially stood out to Mason was that the new USC coaching staff really talked with him about his recruitment, his future at USC and made him feel like it was the perfect fit for him.
"I always had USC in mind," Mason said. "That was always a big school to me. I went to the games this year as a recruit and they were always close with me. I liked that they opened up and accepted me. I like it there. I feel comfortable.
"The new coaches really opened up today talking to me. It felt like family. It made me feel like I was family."
Oregon State had also offered Mason, a 6-foot, 165-pound prospect who had also been hearing from many other Pac-12 schools.
The Pasadena Muir standout who also played offense in his junior season loved the campus tour and seeing all the facilities during his Saturday visit. He had always liked the Trojans. When an offer came, Mason was not going to waste any time.
The whole day seems like a memorable moment for the 2015 recruit.
"They took us on a tour of the school, the field, the locker rooms, they had a talk with us about how it is as a student at USC and going through college and after college and after football," Mason said.
"They talked about how the classes would be and how our first year would be and they went over stuff like that. It was really good."
