USC impresses four-star RB

Justin Davis admits USC is probably his favorite school at this point in his recruitment and Thursday's visit only reinforced that belief.
The four-star running back from Stockton (Calif.) Lincoln said he had an outstanding time during his one-day trip to USC and it's becoming clear the Trojans are the team to beat.

"I got to see practice, spend more time with the coaches and they did everything right on my visit," Davis said. "I loved it."
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound prospect is rated as the fifth-best running back and No. 48 recruit in the 2013 class by Rivals.com. Davis said the main reason he wanted to return to USC after coming down for junior day was to get a better feel for the coaching staff.
He accomplished that on Thursday.
"I was looking to get more personal with the coaches," Davis said. "I wanted to hang out with the coaches. I had a chance at junior day but I wanted to get a better experience with all the coaches.
"They are one of my top schools. I wanted to get more familiar with it and I wanted to reinforce the idea I have about them in my head."
Originally, Davis planned a two-day trip to Stanford on Friday and Saturday but because of a track meet this weekend he'll only be able to see that school one day. The Stockton Lincoln standout has never been to Stanford's campus so he's excited to see what the school offers.
"I just want to see what they're all about," Davis said. "The academics are there of course. I just want to see how their football program is because I've never been there before. I want to see what it's like up there."
Davis, who rushed for 2,380 yards and 36 touchdowns in his junior season, said Oregon has picked up more interest recently. He's planning to visit Cal and Washington in upcoming weeks and then might be closer to making his decision.
"I'm starting to get more of an idea," Davis said. "It will probably be in May or something but I don't have a date yet. I'm going to take my visits and then probably make my decision."
