USC continues to roll

It was another huge weekend for USC. Last week, the Trojans landed the nation's top wide out and middle linebacker. This week, they hit the JC ranks landing the nation's top defensive tackle, Gabe Long and will add the nation's top offensive line prospect, Kevin Myers later tonight.
Myers, 6-7, 379 pounds (said he was weighed on his recent visit) from Compton J.C (Calif.) visited USC this past weekend. The lineman was an early commit to LSU but said he's now planning to stay closer to home.

"I'm a Trojan," Myers said. "I've always wanted to go to USC, ever since I first started playing football. I thought I would go there right out of high school but I didn't have the grades. I headed over to Compton and had two great seasons. USC was still in my heart but they really weren't showing me that much love early in the process.
"I was hearing from schools all over but not them. That was one of the reasons I committed to LSU. I figured if I committed there, they would have to take a look at me and couldn't wait around too much longer. It worked because shortly after, they started to recruit me and as soon as they did, I knew I would be going there.
"This past weekend was unbelievable. USC is home to me and I know the school so well but I still had a great time with everyone. I hung out all weekend with Desean Jackson and Luthur Brown and we all hit off really well. The party's were off the hook and I don't think any of us got much sleep all weekend.
"I talked to the coaches and they know I'm coming but I'm still going to call them and let them know. It's kind of a formality though, I mean they basically told me, 'Kevin, you're coming here, you know that right.' I was like, 'yeah, I'm coming. Tim Davis drove me home on Sunday and we talked about my role in the offense, coming in for spring conditioning, all that good stuff.
"They want me to come in and compete for the starting left guard spot. In my eyes, that's going to be my job, I'm going to work my butt off to get that job. I know I need to get in great shape and I'm planning to do that. I weighed in at 379 pounds and Coach Davis told me, 'you better have your butt down to 330 by the time you get here.' I can do that. As soon as I sign in February, I'm going to be down there all the time, working out and getting ready for the fall.
"I can't enroll until the fall but I'm going to be there all Spring. Academically, I have 50.5 units right now and I just need nine more for my AA degree. I'll have that and then some. I'm taking 18 units this final semester so when I get to USC, I'll be ahead of the game in terms of my classes are concerned. That will also give me some breathing room in case I don't do well in some of my classes, I still have room to take a summer class but that won't be necessary.
"Like I said, I'm committed man to getting it done in the classroom. I got no sleep this weekend but was still up at 6:30 this morning to get to my first class today. I'm not missing any classes, I have my priorities in line. USC is my dream and the only that's going to stop me from being there in the fall is death itself."
Myers also visited San Diego State and Oklahoma State in addition to LSU. He's still planning to take one last visit to Oregon this coming weekend.
"I promised the coaches there I would visit so I want to honor that," Myers said. "Still, I'm a Trojan, there is nothing that is going to keep me from going there. Everyone wants to be a part of the program now and I can't wait until I get there."
Myers will have three to play two for the Trojans.
