USC Commit Will Take January Visits

Although he’s still a solid commitment to USC, Compton (Calif.) Dominguez offensive lineman Chilo Rachal will take a few official visits during the month of January. Rachal said he talked to Trojan DB coach Greg Burns to make sure it would be OK before deciding to take his visits.
“The last thing I want to do is ruin things with USC,” Rachal said. “There’s no better school in the country and it’s definitely the place for me. It’s just I feel like I’m missing out on something by not taking my trips. I’m the only one I know that isn’t taking them. The rest of the committed players at USC are going on visits and I know that this is the only time in my life when I’ll have this opportunity to go out and experience this.

“I told Coach Burns that there was no way I would go anywhere else and also told him if he had a problem with it, then I wouldn’t go on any visits. He told me it was all right and he didn’t have a problem with it because he knows it will just reinforce my desire to come to SC when I see what else is out there. The two schools I know I’m visiting for sure are Washington and Oregon.
“I’m going to Washington (Jan. 16) with Thomas (Herring) but I don’t have a date set for Oregon yet. I’m not sure if I’ll take all five and I’m not sure what other schools interest me right now. No matter what though, I’m still a Trojan, I can’t emphasize that enough.”
