Updated '17 Kentucky State Rankings: Meet the Top Five

The most recent Rivals.com National Rankings update was completed last month, but now the complete state rankings are rolling out. Take a look at the top five players in Kentucky, how they got there and where we think they might end up signing next year.

Previous State Rank: 1

Schools in the Mix: Kentucky, Alabama, Notre Dame.

Prediction: Alabama. There were rumors late in the summer that Wills had committed to the Tide and that an announcement was imminent, but here we are a month into the season and there has been little to no news out of Wills' camp. I honestly think he wanted to give Kentucky a fair shot, but the 'Cats on-field struggles so far this fall aren't a good sign for the hometown option.

Previous State Rank: 2

Schools in the Mix: Bentley is committed to Louisville

Prediction: It's highly unlikely Bentley will end up anywhere except with the Cardinals. At the time he committed he was thrilled to join the fold and with the way things are going on the field this fall for the school it's tough to see anything changing.

Previous State Rank: 3

Schools in the Mix: Wood is committed to Kentucky

Prediction: Wood will stay committed to Kentucky. Because of his local ties to the school it would be surprising to see Wood anywhere else. A coaching change might have an impact on the situation, but I'm inclined to think that Wood sticks regardless.

Previous State Rank: Unranked

Schools in the Mix: Paulson is committed to Western Kentucky, but is still being recruited by schools like Minnesota and Pittsburgh.

Prediction: Paulson elected to stay close to home and commit to the Hilltoppers despite increased interest from across the country. At this point I think he's 50/50 to stay in the class, especially once things get closer to National Signing Day.

Previous State Rank: 4

Schools in the Mix: Hayes is committed to Purdue.

Prediction: Hayes jumped on the chance to commit to the Boilermakers, his lone Power Five offer, early in the summer. Since then he's kept a low profile and appears to be very solid to the school. The only thing that might change his position is if there's a coaching change following the season.
