Upchurch not shocked by FSU dominance

This weekend’s Virginia-Florida State showdown had college football fans across the country excited. Many were buying into the national championship hopes of Virginia, but Tallahassee (Fla.) Godby running back Roy Upchurch was not one of them.
“I went to the Florida State-Virginia game this weekend and it went about like I expected it to,” Upchurch said. “I wasn’t buying into all the Virginia hype that everybody was putting out. They haven’t played anybody. I knew Florida State’s defense would shut them down.”

Last fall the talented back rushed for 856 yards and eight touchdowns, while also catching 17 balls for 184 yards and two touchdowns.
“I don’t know what game I will go to next,” Upchurch said. “I don’t think that I am going to go anywhere this weekend. The next game I am going to for sure is the Alabama-Auburn game in about a month.”
The 6-foot, 183-pound Upchurch, who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.53 seconds, is not focused as much on recruiting as he is his senior season.
“I am not going to be taking any official visits until this season is over,” Upchurch said. “I have not set any of those up yet either. My top four are still Alabama, Auburn, Florida and Florida State. I am going to take an official visit to those four and decide after that.”
