UNLV lands SoCal WR

UNLV is on a roll picking up another solid commitment from an outstanding player who flew under the radar for most of the year for recruitneks, but not college football coaches. This player had four offers and most likely was on the verge of landing more offers.
The player in question is wide receiver Justin Marvel (6-0, 170, 4.4) from San Bernardino (Calif.) Arroyo Valley.

Marvel was, well a marvel his senior season latching on to 59 passes for 985 yards and eight touchdowns.
Marvel was marvelous enough to get an offer from Urban Meyer when he was coach of the Utah Utes and being of sound mind, he accepted.
When Meyer decided to head southeast to the swamplands of Florida, Marvel reopened his recruitment.
Enter former Utah offensive coordinator, now UNLV Coach Mike Sanford. He was in-house this past week and he sealed the deal for the Rebels.
Marvel had offers from Utah, Hawai'i and UNLV. His recruitment was beginning to heat up.
"After Justin committed to UNLV, he canceled visits to UCLA this weekend (Jan. 7th) and to Fresno State," Arroyo Valley Coach Tony DiThomas said. "He is that type of young man, once he makes up his mind he's a man of his word. He's very reliable."
"Justin is a great young man," DiThomas said. "Unlike a lot of skill players, he's not about ego. He's only interested in one thing, winning."
UNLV is doing a great job on the recruiting front since the new regime took over last month.
