UNLV lands local hero

One of the things that UNLV second-year coach Mike Sanford wanted to do when he took over the job was to make sure that the Rebels landed their fair share homegrown prospects. UNLV picked up the commitment of one of Las Vegas' own.
The newest UNLV Rebel in linebacker Ron Paulo (6-2, 225, 4.65) from Las Vegas (Nev.) Western.

"I just felt that I fit in with the program and I bonded with the coaches," Paulo said. "I also feel that the program is going up."
"Coach Sanford brings a lot of things to the table," Paulo said. "He's one of the reasons that program is improving."
UNLV lands a player who earned first-team all-state, first-team all-conference, and Region Defensive Player of the Year after racking up 150 tackles, three deflected passes, three forced fumbles, two picks and one interception.
