Unfortunate turn of events for Sanders

College Park (Ga.) North Clayton weakside defensive end/outside linebacker Donnell Sanders is on the glamorous side of high school football, being a star and receiving Division I scholarship offers. However, recently he was on the tragic side with a season ending injury.
"I'm out for the year with a torn ACL," Sanders said. "It happened about two weeks ago and it was just one of those things. I have had surgery and we've already started the rehab, but it's only been going for about a week so its still early to tell much."

The 6-foot-2, 206-pound Sanders attended the NIKE camp in Athens where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.66 seconds, the shuttle in 4.62 seconds and posted a 35-inch vertical jump.
"I have been hearing from pretty much the same schools," Sanders said. "Virginia Tech, Arkansas, Southern Miss and Bowling Green have all been calling me pretty regularly. Southern Miss just recently offered too."
Sanders appeared to be on the verge of making a commitment no more than a month ago, but now he's decided to slow down the process and take some visits.
"I haven't been to any games yet anywhere this season, but I might go somewhere this weekend," Sanders said. "So far I have not set up any official visits, but I want to do that before I make any kind of commitment."
