Undersized LB getting some big looks

Though he's a bit undersized at 5-foot-9, 205-pounds, linebacker Gavin Gaston makes up for it with his speed and colleges are taking notice. The Charlotte (N.C.) West Charlotte prospect is garnering attention from the ACC, SEC and others.
"I've been sending my tapes out and schools including North Carolina, Clemson, Wake Forest, North Carolina State, Maryland, Notre Dame, Duke and Florida have been sending me stuff," he said. "North Carolina is my favorite. That's where my heart is.

"I like that they aren't really far from home and it's convenient for my parents. Their sports programs also send a lot of people to the next level."
The Tar Heels are one of the schools scheduled to receive a visit from Gaston later this month.
"I'm planning to go there on April 14th for their spring game," he said. "I'm also considering going up to Wake Forest and Clemson for visits.
"Later this spring I plan to attend the Shrine Bowl combine and then will go to North Carolina for summer camp once again."
On his way to all-conference honors, Gaston registered 100 tackles, seven sacks and three interceptions as a junior.
