The Latest: Rivals100 wide receiver Jeff Thomas put on quite a show during Sunday’s Under Armour Game, hauling in three passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns while setting the game’s record for most receiving yards. Thomas has been rather mum about his recruitment during the process, but after his showing on Sunday things are likely to heat up. Rivals.com caught up with him to get the latest on his plans.

In His Words: “Illinois is still my leader. I’ve talked with Lovie Smith a lot during the process but it’s kind of slowing down because of the dead period. I’m hopefully going to take an official there later this month so we’ll see what happens.”

On Oregon: “Oregon is a fast-paced offense and something I really like. I just want to take the official visit and see how that goes.”

On Tennessee: “I talked to the wide receivers coach yesterday and he let me know that I have a scholarship and he’s been wanting to offer me but he hasn’t had my contact information. I don’t know much about them yet. They think they can give me the ball in space.”

On Miami: “Miami, that’s a good school. They have the other freshman, Ahmon Richards, he’s a good dude. Hopefully I can be on the other side of the ball from him. We’ll see how the visit goes.”

Rivals Reaction: Thomas was thrilled to be holding the MVP hardware after the game and his recruitment is likely to take off even more over the next month. It will be interesting to see how things shake out, especially once colleges are able to reach out via means other than social media later this month.
