LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - There are five prospects who are expected to announce their college decisions during Friday night's Under Armour All-American Game. Here are our predictions on where each will end up playing his college ball.- updated 1/3/2013
Under Armour All-American Game Announcements
ATH Kendell Beckwith, Jackson (La.) East Feliciana
Overall Rank: No. 84
Schools: LSU and Alabama
Farrell Analysis: Beckwith had other schools in the picture but has always had Alabama and LSU at the top of his list. It has been an extremely tight battle between the two national championship contenders and is a difficult call, but expect the Tigers to hang on to one of the top defensive players in the state, mainly because of his fit in the team's defensive scheme.
LB Trey Johnson, Lawrenceville (Ga.) Central Gwinnett
Overall Rank: No. 86
Schools: Ohio State, Florida, Tennessee
Farrell Analysis: Johnson was locked into Auburn for such a long time that when things unraveled with the Tigers pretty much every school was in the mix. But Urban Meyer and the coaches at Ohio State swooped in quickly and got Johnson go visit Columbus, where he quickly fell in love. It be a shock if he doesn't end up with the Buckeyes.
Prediction: Ohio State
Pick: Ohio State
S Leon McQuay III, Seffner (Fla.) Armwood
Overall Rank: No. 19
Schools: USC, Vanderbilt, Oregon, Michigan, Florida State
Farrell Analysis: McQuay has been as secretive as about just any player in the country this year, narrowing his list to a top five but never tipping his hand. In addition to football, McQuay is also an avid music lover and plans a career in production. While it's tough to call, the lure of a future in the music business makes USC and Vanderbilt stand out.
DE Ebenezer Ogundeko, Brooklyn (NY) Thomas Jefferson
Overall Rank: No. 226
Schools: Syracuse, Clemson
Farrell Analysis: Ogundeko really enjoyed his official visit to Clemson but when it comes down to it will state pride be too much for the New York native to pass up? Ogundeko came away impressed with the Orange's big bowl victory and would be a part of the rebuilding process in Upstate New York.
S Max Redfield, Mission Viejo (Calif.)
Overall Rank: No. 24
Schools: USC, Notre Dame
Farrell Analysis: Outside of a brief flirtation with Oregon it's been all about the Irish and the Trojans for Redfield. The one-time USC commit decided to open up his commitment and even though he's said the Trojans are still in the mix, it looks like he'll be spending his Saturdays in South Bend.
Prediction: Notre Dame
Pick: Notre Dame
