UNC visit goes very well for 4-star DT

Four-star defensive tackle Kyree Campbell has never shied away from talking about how much he likes North Carolina. The Woodbridge (Va.) Woodbridge Senior star was in Chapel Hill over the weekend and got some much needed answers.
"It went very well," said the 6-foot-5, 295-pound Campbell. "Coach Chizik and coach Papuchis sat down and talked to me because they knew I was a little worried about coach Gilmore moving to Notre Dame. I built a great relationship with him. They really sat down and talked to me and it went pretty well. North Carolina was really on the top for me and when coach Gilmore left I didn't know what to do. After talking to coach Chizik it really opened up my mind and I feel really comfortable with coach Chizk and coach Papuchis. They want me stopping the run and getting to the passer as a three technique."

Campbell is still mulling over his options but does have a decision date in mind.
"Right now I don't have a top three but North Carolina is one of my top schools," he said. "I'm looking at Ohio State, Notre Dame, Florida, I'm waiting on an Alabama offer and I really like South Carolina.
"I talk to North Carolina every day or every other day, Notre Dame too," Campbell said. "South Carolina is about the same also."
"I might commit during the fifth week of my senior season or right after the season," he said. "I think the fifth week is homecoming."
Campbell former a very strong relationship with former Tar Heel defensive line coach Keith Gilmore but another former North Carolina defensive line coach has been making a good impression as well.
"Deke Adams has done a great job recruiting me," said Campbell. "I really like the campus and the atmosphere at South Carolina too."
A number of schools will see Campbell on campus this offseason.
"I'm going to Alabama for their offensive line first defensive line camp," he said. "I'm also going to the Alabama camp that is in July. I'm going to Florida at some point but I have the date. I will be going to Penn State some time and I will be going to North Carolina again for spring practice."
Earlier this week Campbell transferred to Woodbridge from Woodbridge (Va.) Freedom.
