Chris Clark's recruitment has taken some crazy turns lately. The Rivals250 tight end from Avon (Conn.) Avon Old Farms recently committed to North Carolina but has decided to take some visits to make sure he made the right decision. First up was Notre Dame this past weekend.
"I got there on Friday," the 6-foot-6, 245-pound Clark said. "I had an opportunity to sit down and chat with the coaches, which was awesome. Coach (Scott) Booker, coach (Tony) Alford and coach (Brian) Kelly are all really cool guys. I also got a chance to hang with the players. They were a lot like me. The campus was one of the best campuses I've seen. The facilities are really good and the landmarks are really special there."
Clark learned a lot about the history of his position at Notre Dame.
"It's 'tight end U', there's no doubt about that," he said. "I saw a bunch of videos about their tight ends. The last seven tight ends there have gone on to the NFL. They do a really good job at that position."
This visit has given Clark a lot to think about but he still needs to gather more information.
"It's tough but I'm going to take these last two visits to Michigan and Ohio State on April 18 and 19," Clark said. "I'll come back and try to make my final decision on April 20 out of Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame and North Carolina. Right now I really don't have any idea. This trip was unbelievable and I'm really happy I got a chance to see Notre Dame, but I want to see Ohio State and Michigan before I make any final decision."
Clark is shooting to make a final decision on April 20.
