UNC, Ole Miss lead for New York DT

Brooklyn (N.Y.) ASA College defensive tackle Gilbert Pena has started to generate a buzz on the recruiting scene and he has scheduled two official visits.
Ole Miss and Miami-OH are the two schools that have actually extended offers to the 6-foot-4, 315-pound junior college defensive tackle, but Pena has set up official visits to Ole Miss and another school.

He will be taking an official visit to North Carolina on October 30, when the Tar Heels take on William & Mary, and he will be at Ole Miss on December 4, one week after the end of their regular season.
Is that a pretty good sign that Ole Miss and North Carolina are his favorites?
"I guess you could say that," Pena said. "I'm really just happy it's all going the way it's going. I've got something going now."
Though ASA College suffered a tough loss on Saturday they are 5-2 on the year and Pena is a big reason for their success.
In addition to UNC and Ole Miss, Pena has heard from Oregon and the Ducks are reportedly very interested. His coach has been keeping in contact with some other schools and Pena is just waiting to hear more about other schools that might be interested.
"I'm pretty sure I'll take some more officials," he said. "I'm just not sure where yet. I'm graduating in January so most schools are looking to have me by then for spring ball. I'll have to take my visits before I graduate."
