UNC leading for in-state OL

Offensive lineman Pete Leota hasn't gotten out on the road much but he has seen enough to claim a favorite. The Asheville (N.C.) star saw enough at North Carolina on Saturday to call the Tar Heels his top team.
"I thought the visit went great," said the 6-foot-5, 295-pound Leota. "I love it up here. It changed a whole lot of things for me because I didn't think Carolina was really all that until I went up there. It really changed a whole lot of things on my recruiting list. They're at the top right now."

Leota's experience in Chapel Hill started before many of the other recruits arrived.
"I got there early and they took us around to see the football facility," he said. "We signed in and went to the players around to do some cool stuff and saw the basketball game later."
The large group of recruits that visited Chapel Hill gave many of them the chance to interact with each other and share their experiences in the recruiting process. Leota mentioned that he spent some time talking to offensive lineman Jay Jay McCargo and five-star defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence.
The North Carolina coaches emphasized their development program to Leota.
"They were telling me everything about their school, how it will get me right and how it will prepare me for the NFL draft," Leota said. "Coach Kap is a really good guy."
The other two schools in Leota's top three are Boston College and Virginia Tech but Leota might end his recruitment in August.
