UNC latest to offer OL Jenkins

Last week Damascus (Md.) Good Counsel offensive tackle Nick Jenkins picked up his sixth scholarship offer. Which team from the ACC has thrown their hat into the ring for the 6-foot-3, 316-pounder?
"I got my latest offer from North Carolina," he said. "I called coach Thigpen about my film and he said all the coaches gave it a thumbs up and that they were going to offer me. I like the offer from them and the fact they are in the South. I've been to Chapel Hill before and it's a nice college campus and they have a good business program too."

Other schools Jenkins has offers from are Michigan State, Penn State, Maryland, Kansas State and Rutgers. Previously it was listed that Penn State was his favorite. Is that still the case?
"Penn State was my early leader because they were the first school to offer me," he said. "Now that other schools are in the mix it is wide open and everyone is at the same level."
Besides the offers, Jenkins has interest from Michigan, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Florida, Tennessee, Virginia and Texas A&M.
"I'm looking for a school with good academics and that happens to be in a conference I want to play in," he said. "I think I'd prefer to stay in the ACC or Big Ten. I've grown up watching those schools and they all play some great football."
The lineman prospect plans to head to the Penn State Nike Camp and Elite College Combine this spring.
Last season Jenkins was named all-state after recording 78 tackles, six for loss and three sacks.
