UNC, Hoosiers offer DL Ferrell

Jacksonville (Fla.) Atlantic Coast defensive end Trae Ferrell notched verbal offers from Indiana and North Carolina in recent weeks. Ferrell learned of the offers from his head coach Kevin Sullivan.
He reached out to UNC after picking up the offer from the Tar Heels. The ACC program wants to learn more about their program.

"It was kind of exciting getting those offers," remarked a happy Ferrell. "I really didn't believe it. Everyone was coming up to me saying I got offered, but I didn't believe them until I talked to my coach."
Ferrell said conference affiliation doesn't matter to him and he will play at the best school for him. However, there is one school that stands out above the rest according to Ferrell and that program is LSU.
"I like their coaches," stated Ferrell. "The defense they play and the whole team plays hyper on the field. It's like a family there too. Everyone is doing their job and they do what they need to do."
Even if the Tigers offered Ferrell said he would take his time with his decision. His family prefers him to stay close to home, but he said distance won't be a factor in his choice.
Most schools want him as a hybrid rush end and outside linebacker depending on the scheme.
During the fall he attended the Duke-Miami game. The Blue Devils win over the 'Canes impressed Ferrell and he is considering Duke is an option if they offer.
As a junior, he recorded 47 tackles, 13 sacks, four forced fumbles to go with four recoveries, and an interception.
