UNC first to offer Murphy

Junior cornerback Christopher Murphy of Kennesaw (Ga.) Harrison got positive feedback after camping at three Division I colleges recently.
After camping at a fourth school, he got an offer.

It came Tuesday from North Carolina. For the 5-feet-10, 181-pounder, that's No. 1.
"It meant a lot, that they believe in me enough to be the first school to offer me," Murphy told Rivals.com. "I think I did well at the camp there, and they said I did great. In one-on-ones, I had a lot of reps, and I had a lot of pass breakups."
Although it's early, Murphy likes North Carolina a lot. And it appears the Tar Heels could be a factor.
"That's definitely a school I will consider later on in the process," Murphy said. "That has been a school I've liked for a long time now. I grew up kind of being a North Carolina fan. I just like the school overall."
Previously, Murphy camped at Auburn, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.
"They all told me I did well," Murphy said. "They loved me. When I went to Auburn, tough, there were like so many people there. It was too packed so they didn't get a good chance to evaluate us. They told me they'd invite me back with a smaller group of people."
Asked if he thinks the North Carolina offer will lead to others, Murphy replied, "Hopefully."
Then, he added, "I really don't know who will be next. A bunch of schools are showing interest. It could be anybody that pulls the trigger next. We think it's going to be a school in the Midwest. Like a Big Ten school."
