UMass or UConn for TE Flores

Enfield (Conn.) Enrico Fermi tight end Brandon Flores has two schools in his sights as his official visits get started.

"UMass and UConn are the two schools that are probably out in front," said the 6-foot-5, 240-pound prospect. "They are close to home and have good football programs. I'm interested in them."

Flores will look at University of Massachusetts on an official visit this weekend and then take a look at Albany for a day visit. He said he is working on setting up a firm date with Connecticut.

"I would like to make a decision pretty soon after my visits are soon," Flores said. "I'm excited about the visits this weekend and finding out about the schools. I don't know a lot about them, but I do know the coaches and I like them very much. I'm talking with the coaches at UConn and trying to work around my basketball schedule."

Schools have been talking with Flores about playing tight end or weakside defensive end or maybe both. He was an all conference selection at defensive end and tight end.

"We'll see what happens, but I'm open to playing both if it is the right situation," the two-star athlete said.
