UK, UGA, Duke among WRs leaders

More and more prospects are starting to base their college decisions on the promise of an opportunity to play multiple sports.
Boiling Springs (S.C) is home to one such player in Brooks Foster.

Foster (6-3, 180, 4.5) is one of the Palmetto State’s top wide receiver prospects and a very good wing player on the basketball court, although not considered a high major target. He has football scholarship offers from South Carolina, Clemson, Kentucky, Duke, Maryland and Vanderbilt, and could be on the verge of a Georgia offer.
Many of those schools have already promised a shot to try both sports.
“Kentucky, Duke and South Carolina have all said they’d love to have me in both,” Foster said. “That’s going to be a big part of my decision, whether they’ll let me do that or not.”
Foster has camped at Duke and Kentucky this summer in addition to keeping up his AAU basketball schedule. He’ll camp at Georgia on July 11 – where he’s received indications that a scholarship offer may be coming – and play in the Peach Jam basketball tournament on the following day.
“I’ve been pretty busy this summer,” he said. “I had a good time at the Duke and Kentucky camps. It was raining at Duke the whole time, so I didn’t get a chance to see as much of the campus as I would have liked, but I really liked their coaches. Kentucky had some real nice facilities. I was impressed by their indoor stadium for practice. That was great. The city of Lexington is really nice, too. Their coaches are nice and they’ve been recruiting me pretty hard for a long time.”
Any favorites at this point?
“Not any one favorite,” he said, “but I like Georgia, Kentucky, Duke and North Carolina the most. Georgia has probably the best combination of programs for football and basketball. It would be fun to play both sports there because of that. I like the fact that it’s close to Atlanta, too. It’s a great city with a lot of stuff to do. I love that area.
“As far as North Carolina goes, I grew up watching them a lot, so I’m waiting to see if I get more interest from them. I’d like to take a look at them.”
Academically, Foster maintains a 3.7 GPA and is projected as a full-qualifier.
