UGA, VTech added to RBs list

Atlanta (Ga.) Douglass prospect James Davis is receiving wide-ranging interest from a number of the top programs in the Southeast.
Davis, a 6-foot-0, 207-pound tailback, rushed for close to 1,700 yards last season and scored 14 touchdowns en route to being named an honorable mention all-state selection. While Davis had named an early top six of Clemson, Alabama, Tennessee, LSU, Georgia Tech, and Auburn a few weeks ago, his list of favorites has changed slightly since then.

“I’ve got a number of offers and I’m getting a lot of interest from a ton of schools right now,” Davis explained. “I’ve expanded my list of schools I’m looking at to eight. I’m thinking a lot about Clemson, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma State, LSU, and Georgia Tech.”
The Hokies were the latest school to offer Davis. James also holds written offers from Mississippi State, Florida, Florida State, and Miami. Davis has visited Georgia and Clemson in recent weeks and hopes to see a few other schools over the summer.
“I want to see a bunch of different schools,” said Davis. “I plan to see Georgia again at some point as well as visit Alabama, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma State and LSU.”
Davis had mentioned the idea of committing early in previous interviews and is still toying with the idea, although he appears to be in rush to make a solid commitment.
“I might make a commitment before the season gets going, but I’ll more than likely make the decision sometime in the early part of the fall,” Davis said. “Even if I do commit early, I’d still like to take all my official visits to make sure the school I choose is absolutely right for me.”
