UGA latest to offer top QB

The competition for the top player in the Show-Me State has just gotten a little more crowded. Columbia (Mo.) Rock Bridge quarterback Chase Patton already has a strong list of offers from teams like Missouri, Kansas State, Tennessee and Iowa. But the offers are now coming in fast and furious.

“Chase just got offered by Georgia,” his coach A.J. Ofodilie said. “And Michigan State told us that they might offer him soon as well. It’s really getting crazy around here.”
And with a strong showing at several events – including the Nike Training Camp at Michigan last week – it looks Patton is making a case to be one of the nation’s elite quarterbacks and a potential five-star prospect.
“After seeing the clips of the other top quarterbacks on Rivals100, including the guys analysts say are the top two guys for 2004, I am very confident that Chase has a strong case for being the top prospect,” Ofodilie, who played in the NFL, said.
“He has the best release and strongest arm of all the prospects. You will also noticed that an overwhelming amount of his games were played in cold and muddy conditions, which makes it amazing that he still throws the kind of balls that he throws.”
And Patton is getting even better.
“Chase just completed his second season at the position, so he has plenty of room for development,” his coach said.
