UGA, Bama stil lead for Washington

Grayson, Ga., offensive tackle Lorenzo Washington has a lot on his mind right now – NFL pre-season games, girls, official visits, unofficial visits and oh yeah, that pesky start to his high school season. With one scrimmage under his belt, another tonight and a season-opener right around, the corner, who has room for recruiting?
Washington does.

“It’s always on my mind,” Washington, a four-star tackle that is ranked as the No. 18 player at his position, said. “If I forget about it, I just come home and there is more mail here for me to open I’m going to go ahead and take some unofficial visits, see some games and enjoy the next few months while I’m at it.”
And for the record, Washington is already scouting out a few games that he hopes to see.
“I’m for sure going to be the Oklahoma-Alabama game,” he said. “I want to be there for that one for sure. I don’t even know what Georgia games I’m going to go to, but they’re right up the street, so I’ll be sure to check out a couple of them. I’m maybe thinking about going over to the USC-Auburn game next week, but if I can’t I know I’ll be there for sure when Auburn hosts UGA.
“I could see two of my teams in that one.”
But his top two teams remain consistent as it has for the last few months. Georgia and Alabama are perched at the top of list and are in good positions to snag a commitment from him when the time comes.
“I just feel really good about both those teams, how they’re recruiting me and how I could fit in there,” Washington said. “Right now this is a dream for me. I get people asking me all the time ‘You got offered by Georgia and you’ve not committed yet.’ I tell them that I want to see my schools and feel out all of my options.
“Auburn is kicking the recruitment of me up a notch now. Maryland hasn’t been writing as much, Ohio State has been sending more and I guess I’m just going to enjoy this process and see where it takes me.
“Who knows on when the coaches call again on September 1, somebody might drop out, somebody might move up.”
As you can tell, Washington definitely has a lot on his mind.
