UF pledge sets official visit to Texas

Miami (Fla.) Central running back Dalvin Cook scored two touchdowns on Friday night in his team's pre-season 44-13 rout of Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Dwyer.
Next Friday, Cook and Rivals100 teammate Joseph Yearby face off against Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage led by 5-star running back Sony Michel in what is being billed as the "Battle of the Backs." Michel, Cook, and Yearby are rated as the top three running backs in the Sunshine State for 2014.

On the recruiting front Cook maintains his commitment to Florida but says he will take official visits this fall.
"I'm planning on taking all five," stated Cook. "I've got one set-up right now and that's Texas, probably like on Sept. 13."
The Horns host Ole Miss that weekend.
"I've been out already," noted Cook. "But I just couldn't see everything I wanted to see (game-day atmosphere)."
Cook says Alabama, Florida State, Miami, and USC are still recruiting him despite his commitment. He has one message for those schools.
"I tell everybody keep recruiting me," remarked Cook. "February is a long time from now."
At one point Cook was committed to Clemson before flipping to the Gators.
Right now UF looks to be in good shape and Cook feels comfortable with the staff in Gainesville in addition to having the chance to make an early impact as a freshman.
However, just like Cook said, "February is a long time from now."
