UF makes big jump for 5-star LB after visit

The Florida Gators were the latest school to host five-star Keion Joyner. The linebacker from Havelock (N.C.) seemed to really enjoy everything that Gainesville has to offer.
"It was really good," said the 6-foot-2, 208-pound Joyner. "I got to see the campus and check practice. I also got to go into their meetings and see what those were about."

Joyner was particularly fond of the way the Florida coaches go about their business.
"I like that the coaches don't sugarcoat things," he said. "If you mess up something they make sure to tell you about it."
Gator defensive line coach Brad Lawing has a unique connection with Joyner because he used to coach at Havelock.
"We're getting very close," Joyner said. "He was telling me about who he trains and the guys that have come out. He was really talking about the comparisons between how we play and how they play."
This visit clearly did a lot for the Gators when it comes to possibly landing Joyner's commitment.
"Florida is probably in my top ten," he said. "I'm really just keeping my options open right now. LSU is still my leader but I don't have a top three anymore."
Last season Joyner had more than 120 tackles, two interceptions, seven forced fumbles and nine sacks.
