UConn signs a Maryland gem

The UConn Huskies have picked up a gem from the state of Maryland.
"Harold committed and signed with UConn today, his letter has been faxed," said Forestville (Md.) McNamara athletic director Tony Johnson regarding fullback/defensive end Harold Stanback. "He was thinking about South Carolina and some other places, but he visited UConn and really liked it up there."

Stanback is a 6-foot-3, 225-pounder who is being recruited as a defensive end by the Huskies. The South Carolina Gamecocks were going to sign and place Stanback in prep school, but the Huskies expect him to enroll in August if he qualifies academically.
Stanback is a three-star fullback in the Rivals100.com database and is a Top 10 player in the state of Maryland.
