UConn picks up NJ standout

The UConn Huskies went into the Garden State and pulled out one of the top sleepers in the state today.
"Dan committed to UConn this morning," said Planfield, N.J. trainer Frank Colabella of defensive end Dan Davis. "Coach McMichael was here this morning and Dan made his commitment."
Davis visited UConn on Dec. 5 and also took an official visit to Rutgers on Dec. 12. He was down to UConn and Virginia before choosing the Huskies. Davis also had conditional offers from Michigan State and Iowa based on academics. He was set to take an official visit to Virginia on Jan. 30 but has apparently cancelled that trip.
