UConn, ISU, UGA to get visits from RB

Lakeland (Fla.) George Jenkins three-star running back Tyease Thompson had two goals this season – make the state playoffs and rush for more than 2,000 yards. With one game left in his senior season, it looks like he’s going to reach one of those goals.
“If we would have beaten Auburndale this past week, we would have been in the playoffs,” Thompson, who is 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, said. “But we got hosed on four calls. The refs really made some bad calls and it cost us the game.”

The good news is that with one game left, Thompson has only 96 yards to reach the 2,000-yard mark.
“I’m at 1,904,” he said. “I gotta have 2,000. They’re going to have to tie me up to stop me from getting those yards. I’ve been averaging almost 200 yards a game the last month, so hopefully that’ll work out for me and I’ll get those yards that I need.”
Thompson, ranked as the No. 35 running back in the nation by Rivals.com, said he has two official visits lined up.
“I’m going to visit Iowa State on December 12 and I have UConn set up for December 5,” he said. “My top five teams are Pittsburgh, Iowa State, Georgia, Florida and Florida State. I am getting ready this week to set something up with Georgia. I know the Florida schools kind of screw with you and tell you they’re going to offer you, but they really don’t always know what they’re going to do. I’ll wait and see what happens with them.”
Thompson said he hopes to see a great campus atmosphere and how he fits in with the team on the visit. But there is something else he hopes to see.
“If I go somewhere North for my visits, I’ll probably get to see snow for the first time,” he said. “I’ve never seen it before, so I’m excited to see what it’s all about.”
