UCLA To Land JC Quarterback

A name that is probably familiar to a lot of recruiting fans out there is Santa Monica CC (Calif.) quarterback David Koral. Koral, 6-2, 215 pounds set a national record for career yards passing at Palisaded (Calif.) and signed with Vanderbilt three years ago.
Vandy soon switched to an option offense and Koral transferred out. He walked on at Florida State last spring with the promise of a scholarship soon to follow but when it didn't happen, he transferred to San Monica and earned JC 2nd team All-American honors this past season.

"(Karl) Dorrell is coming in to his house tonight for a home visit and he'll likely commit at that point," Koral's longtime quarterback coach and Air 7 Founder Steve Clarkson said. "It's a great situation for him obviously since Drew Olson will be the only quarterback on the roster. BYU, UNLV, Illinois and Hawaii were also on him but he knows he'll have a chance to come in and compete right away at UCLA."
Clarkson, who tutors Matt Leinart (USC), Casey Clausen (Tennessee), Chris Rix (Florida State) and J.P Losman (Tulane) among others had very positive things to say about Koral.
"He has great athleticism, toughness and is very accurate," Clarkson said. "I think he's a great football player and throws the best deep ball of any quarterback I've ever coached. What hurt David was he was only about 6-0 in high school and didn't mature physically until just recently. He can run a 4.65 in the 40 and has a lot of arm strength. I think it's a great fit for both party's.
Koral was hurt a year ago and could apply for a medical red-shirt. If not, he'll have two years to play two for the Bruins.
