UCLA still in lead for Dorton

Malik Dorton had another great visit to UCLA this weekend and the Bruins are definitely out in front in his recruitment.
But the Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco four-star defensive end said he's still seriously considering other programs and doesn't plan to commit anywhere just yet.

Still, Dorton said he had an outstanding trip on Saturday, talked with the coaches, had a good vibe from them and said UCLA is tops right now.
"They had a few guys down that they wanted to recruit just to basically show them the campus and we watched a little bit of the basketball game," Dorton said.
"They didn't necessarily say anything in particular. We just sat down and talked to the coaches. I had a really long talk with the defensive line coach and some other guys. It was a really good talk with them."
So far, the 6-foot-3, 227-pound four-star has offers from Arizona State, Boise State, Fresno State, Oregon State, UCLA, Utah and Utah State.
He said many others have started to show interest so UCLA remains his No. 1 team but Dorton wants to look at others as his recruitment continues.
"It's a lot closer than people think," Dorton said. "They're definitely the favorite right now but I want to take it slow over the spring and summer.
"In the last couple weeks I've received offers from Boise State and Fresno State. Those are the new offers and I've been getting a lot of interest from Northwestern, Michigan, Miami and Ole Miss."
In his junior season, Dorton finished with 57 tackles and six sacks.
