Kyle Philips had been talking to Michigan for some time but then things had gone quiet.

The three-star wide receiver from San Marcos, Calif., who remains committed to UCLA, said the Wolverines have once again come after him and there seems to be mutual interest.

With the Bruins firing coach Jim Mora after last weekend’s loss to USC, Philips said he’s planning some visits.

After Michigan offered on Tuesday, the three-star standout is looking to visit Ann Arbor soon as well.

“They’ve been talking to me for a while now,” Philips said of Michigan.

“It died down the past couple months but with the recent events they reached out to me, got me on the phone with coach Jim Harbaugh and offered.”

The San Marcos receiver is planning to visit Utah this weekend and then will take a trip to Washington State during the first weekend of December.

A trip to Michigan has been worked out for the following weekend in December. Philips said he’s definitely looking forward to checking things out.

“Michigan is an historic school and just a very well-known football school so it’s very exciting to receive an offer from them,” Philips said.

So far this season, Philips has 52 receptions for 1,098 yards and eight touchdowns. He’s averaging more than 21 yards per catch as San Marcos continues its playoff run.
