UCLA-Oregon battle for Horton

We expected Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame athlete Shane Horton to be in Eugene this past weekend. There was some confusion however as Horton thought his official visit was actually going to be to UCLA. Here's the latest.
Horton, 6-1, 185 pounds is one of the top athletes in the state and is actually getting recruited at four different positions right now. He took an official visit to Washington, who likes him at quarterback, UCLA wants him as a safety/cornerback and Oregon likes him at receiver.

"My Oregon visit is actually set up for next week," Horton said. "I was supposed to visit UCLA but the coach that was recruiting, Coach Svoboda, was fired.
"So my dad and I drove down to UCLA Saturday morning and when we got there, the coaches were surprised to see me and told me they thought I was visiting next weekend. There was some miscommunication there obviously so now I need to figure out which school I should visit next week, Oregon or UCLA.
"The Oregon coaches were going to be calling me tonight to find out how the UCLA visit went. So when they call, I'll have to tell them I didn't make it and then figure out what to do for next week.
"Neither school has offered me yet but both sound like they're close. Whoever offers me first, that's probably the school I'll take my visit to. I just need to sit down with my dad and try and figure out what the best thing for me to do is."
