UCLA offers local offensive lineman

Colby Cyburt has not been talking to UCLA's coaching staff at all so the Mission Viejo, Calif., offensive tackle was surprised and also happy when the Bruins offered him on Thursday.
It's another big offer for Cyburt, a 6-foot-5, 265-pound prospect who said getting the UCLA offer is big but because he hasn't talked to the coaches he'd like to do that before getting too excited about the Bruins just yet.

"I'm just really happy they're interested," Cyburt said. "I haven't been talking to them much. It was a little bit out of the blue but I'm really excited about the offer and I look forward to talking to the coaches and getting to know them.
"I've been getting letters from them but I haven't talked to any of their coaches. I wasn't really expecting an offer from them but it's awesome they went ahead and did it and I'm sure they'll be giving me a call pretty quickly because it just happened."
Cyburt, who looked the part at the Los Angeles NIKE Camp, said he is definitely planning to take an unofficial visit to UCLA this summer. Talking with the Bruins' offensive line coach and others is his first priority.
"I'd definitely like to visit because they're close anyway," Cyburt said. "We'll probably do a visit this summer."
Because Cyburt still doesn't know much about UCLA's program, he said his top three remain the same with Stanford, USC and Colorado.
Once he gets to Westwood and if he likes what he sees things could change but that probably won't be for a few weeks until he can set something up.
"I still have my top three as Stanford, USC and Colorado because I don't really know too much about UCLA's coaches or the campus yet," Cyburt said.
"I want to get to know that school a little more before I make too many predictions about them."
So far, Cyburt has offers from Arizona, Boston College, Colorado, Harvard, Oregon State, San Diego State, Stanford and now UCLA.
