UCF offer catches attention of 2019 Texas OL Chans Jones

The latest: Class of 2019 Texas offensive lineman Chans Jones has one offer thus far and it came from an unlikely source. UCF swooped into the Lone Star state in an effort to catch Jones’ attention and so far the Knights appear to be doing a pretty good job. Rivals.com caught up with Jones at the recent Dallas stop of the Rivals 3-Stripe Camp Series to talk about his recruitment and get his thoughts on UCF.

In His Words: “They offered me in January and it was a nice surprise. I’m still learning about the program but I know they have a real great coaching staff. It’s real family oriented and I really like it. I plan on going out there this summer so I can see the campus in person and get a feel for everything.”

On his relationship with the staff: “They have a real good program and they have a real good offensive line as well. They said I move really well and I get off the ball quick and those are the things they look for in their scheme.”

Rivals Reaction: The Knights have done a nice job plucking a few prospects out of Texas in recent years so it only makes sense that they would start early with a guy like Jones. He’s already talking about making the trip to Orlando on his own dime and getting him on campus would be a big win for the Knights in their efforts to eventually land his commitment.
