UA: McGriff ready to represent

Today was a special day for Tallahassee (Fla.) Leon four-star athlete D'Anfernee McGriff. The Auburn commit accepted his Under Armour All-America jersey in front of an adoring crowd at his high school and now looks forward to competing with the nation's best.
"It's a great feeling," the 6-foot-3, 225-pound athlete said. "Coming up as a kid I always wanted my chance. I'm the first person from my school or my family to have a chance at doing something like this."
McGriff plans on making the most of his opportunity. He's prepared to line up as receiver and looks forward to a challenge from any defensive back he has to line up against.
"I know I'll see the best of the best," McGriff said. "As far as playing receiver, I'm going to be aggressive against defensive backs."
If there's one thing McGriff learned this season, it's to win on the line of scrimmage.
"I've got to get off my breaks fast," McGriff said. "I've got to beat the defensive backs off the line."
McGriff plans on solidifying his relationships with other Auburn commits, including Kerryon Johnson.
"I know he's going to be there for sure," McGriff said. "He's a great guy and I know he's going to be a great running back for Auburn."
As for the game itself, McGriff looks forward to now being a part of a game he's watched since he was a kid.
"It will be amazing," he said. "This will be my first time on TV."
McGriff said he's fully committed to Auburn and continues to remain in constant contact with the coaching staff.
"The more I talk to them, the closer I get," he said.
McGriff has a game plan to not only succeed on the field while playing in the game, but he also wants to use his time to convince other All America recruits to join Auburn.
"I'm going to try and convince Jeffery Holland and Martez Ivey to become Auburn Tigers," he said. "I think it's a chance for us to form a dream team."
