UA: LSU pledge Teuhema ready to compete

In the northwest corner of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, Maea Teuhema has established himself as one of the nation's finest high school football players.

The 6-foot-4, 340-pound five-star offensive lineman from Keller, Texas, has shown nimble feet, natural size, athleticism and a nasty disposition in the trenches. The combination is rare to say the least, and Teuhema has made highlight reel plays seem routine.
Teuhema's abilities have made him no stranger to attention. Whether it's college coaches, media, or fans Teuhema quickly became a favorite; and on Thursday, in front of his friends and family, he was presented as an Under Armour All-American.
"I think it's great because I know the best athletes come out there to compete, and its just great to know you are one of those people."
Reaching All-America status was something he always thought about. It was something he knew he wanted to achieve. He also knew it would not be easy, but he never had any problem finding the motivation to put in the necessary work. His motivation was always right there in front of him.
"My family, I want to help them out, and help those who have supported me during my training," Teuhema said.
When he was invited to the Under Armour combine a few years ago, he knew he was on the right track.
Now he stands before his peers with a goal achieved, and a once in a lifetime experience in his not too distant future.
The event in Florida will provide several opportunities, but there is one aspect of the trip Teuhema is looking forward to more than any other.
"Just competing with the other athletes who are there," Teuhema said.
Following the game, Tuehema will take his talents to LSU where he looks forward to competing and experience Baton Rouge with a familiar face.
"My brother (Sione Teuhema) is already out there, so it's going to be cool whenever we're back together," Teuhema said. "I think we're going to have a good time when we're out there."
Teuhema's talents will be on display throughout the Under Armour All-American week at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida, and on game day Jan. 2 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.
