Stanford commit Brian Chaffin was officially recognized as an Under Armour All American in a ceremony at his school on Thursday.

"That's a huge honor," Chaffin said. "There have been a lot of great players to play in that game. I'm really excited about it because not only will it be a good opportunity to go against some good competition, but it will be a fun experience to kind of have a last high school game with a bunch of great players."
The nation's No. 9 center said that he's most excited about meeting a number of fellow top recruits at the event; getting some new Under Armour gear will be an added bonus.
There's a chance Chaffin could represent North Carolina in the Under Armour game with a third straight state title under his belt. His Charlotte Christian High School squad is currently 7-1. The Knights play their final regular season game this Friday, and then it's on to the playoffs.
Chaffin is pleased with his individual development this year, though he has been asked to assume some new responsibilities along the offensive line.
"I think I've had a really good season so far," Chaffin said. "The one thing that's different is I've had to move to right tackle the past couple of games because our right tackle broke his hip, so I haven't played center in a while. I've been doing it in practice, so I haven't had a lot of game reps at center in the past couple of games. It's been good to work on different aspects of my game, work on the kickslide a little bit, work on some reach block techniques and stuff like that."
On the recruiting front, nothing has changed with Chaffin's Stanford commitment. The three-star prospect committed to the Cardinal over numerous offers this summer, and he remains a solid Stanford commit.
"It's been great," Chaffin said. "I've been talking to (running backs coach Lance) Taylor and (offensive coordinator Mike) Bloomgren a lot, as well as (defensive coordinator Lance) Anderson dealing with the admissions. I'm really happy with my decision and I think they're great people."
Chaffin has kept close tabs on his future team throughout the season.
"I've watched pretty much every game," Chaffin said. "I think they're going to be fine. They have a ton of great players and great coaches. The Oregon State game, they came back and they put a good scheme together. They were flying around and those guys are going to get it taken care of."
The 6-foot-1, 286-pound prospect is doing his part to try and ensure the future of Stanford football is a a successful one. He's recruiting several of the Cardinal's top uncommitted targets to join him on The Farm. Chaffin also stays in touch with Stanford's other commits on a regular basis.
"I'm definitely trying to recruit a bunch of guys, as many as I can," Chaffin said. "The commits, we all have a group chat together so we talk pretty much on a weekly basis just trying to build that brotherhood early on. And then in terms of uncommitted guys, I'm talking to Cameron Scarlett, the running back, Frank Buncom IV, Ben Edwards, Bryce Love, K.J. Costello, those guys are some guys that I've been talking to a lot and then obviously the current commits, just making sure everybody is good to go. I feel like we're going to put together a good class when it's all said and done."
Chaffin has submitted his Stanford application and could receive an admissions decision once his latest test scores come back.
He plans to take his official visit to Stanford in mid-January for the Cardinal's big recruiting weekend. He does not currently plan to take any trips to other schools.
